Perplexity's Comet browser is now on iPhone. The AI-powered browser โ€” which first launched on Mac and Windows in July 2025, then Android in November 2025 โ€” completed its platform rollout on March 18, 2026 with an iOS release.

What Comet Does

Comet is a Chromium-based browser built around Perplexity's AI search engine. Rather than traditional tab-based browsing, it focuses on AI-driven summarization and task completion: Deep Research can pull and synthesize information from multiple web sources, while the Comet Assistant handles web-based tasks like summarizing emails, comparing prices, and scheduling.

The iOS app brings voice mode for spoken queries and cross-device continuity โ€” start a research session on desktop, pick it up on iPhone. Unlike the desktop version, the mobile app does not support browser extensions.

Pricing

Comet launched on desktop at $200/month, a price that limited adoption. The iOS version is free to download; Pro and Max subscription plans start at $20/month. Perplexity collects browsing and search history for ad targeting on free accounts.

Enterprise Push

Alongside the iOS launch, Perplexity this week announced Comet Enterprise, aimed at corporate deployments. Early customers include Fortune, AWS, and Bessemer Venture Partners. The enterprise tier integrates with CrowdStrike Falcon for security and can be deployed across thousands of devices via standard MDM tooling.

Comet for iPhone is available now on the App Store.
