State Street and Galaxy Bring SWEEP Tokenized Cash Fund to Solana
State Street Investment Management and Galaxy have begun offering their State Street Galaxy Onchain Liquidity Sweep Fund, or SWEEP, bringing a cash-management product first announced in December into the market.
CoinDesk reported Tuesday that the fund is now live. In the companies' earlier official announcement, State Street and Galaxy said SWEEP would use PYUSD stablecoins for subscriptions and redemptions, would initially launch on Solana, and would target qualified purchasers rather than retail users.
That makes this a more practical tokenization story than many headline-grabbing blockchain launches. SWEEP is built around institutional liquidity management: the routine work of parking cash, earning yield, and moving money when markets or treasury needs change. Putting that workflow on blockchain rails matters more than another pilot focused on collectibles or speculative trading.
The official materials also said additional blockchain integrations were planned for Ethereum and Stellar, with Galaxy supplying the tokenization and digital infrastructure behind the product. State Street, meanwhile, brings the regulated fund wrapper and custody role for the portfolio's treasury holdings.
The conservative read is that SWEEP does not open onchain cash management to the public. It is still a private, institution-only fund. But if large asset managers can keep cash in regulated products while moving in and out on a near-continuous basis, tokenized fund infrastructure starts to look less like a side experiment and more like another piece of financial plumbing.
