Ode moves Anthropic deeper into implementation

Anthropic, Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman have introduced Ode with Anthropic, a standalone AI services company aimed at helping enterprises move AI from experiments into production systems.

The company combines Anthropic models, engineers from Anthropic, and the team from Fractional AI, the applied AI services firm acquired in May. Fractional co-founders Chris Taylor and Eddie Siegel are leading Ode as CEO and CTO. The investor group also includes Apollo Global Management, General Atlantic, GIC, Goldman Sachs, Leonard Green & Partners, and Sequoia Capital.

The structure points to a widening split in enterprise AI between model access and implementation. Ode says it will work with company leadership to identify high-priority AI initiatives and build systems around them, with a focus on sectors such as financial services, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and software.

TechCrunch reported that Ode has about 100 engineers and will follow a "Claude-first" approach, while still using other AI products when needed. That makes the company closer to a deployment partner than a pure model reseller.

The launch also shows how frontier AI labs are trying to protect enterprise relationships as consulting firms and forward-deployed engineering teams compete for the same budgets. For Anthropic, Ode creates a dedicated channel for customers that want Claude tied to workflow redesign, custom software, and measurable business outcomes rather than a standalone chatbot rollout.
