Coinbase Canada is working toward a broader trading app for Canadian users, with plans that could combine crypto, stocks, ETFs, and prediction markets in one product.

The update comes from Coinbase Canada CEO Eric Richmond, who told Decrypt that the company wants to bring its "Everything Exchange" strategy to Canada. The reported plan does not yet have a firm launch date, which makes it more of a product direction than a scheduled rollout.

The Canadian push is notable because Coinbase has been trying to expand beyond spot crypto trading without abandoning its core exchange business. In the United States, the company has framed the broader strategy around giving users access to more asset classes from the same account. Bringing that model to Canada would put Coinbase into closer competition with multi-asset brokerage apps while also testing how far crypto-native trading infrastructure can stretch under local rules.

One near-term piece is tokenized stocks. Decrypt reported that Coinbase plans to make tokenized shares available to non-U.S. users, including Canadians, with dividend rights included. That would place traditional equities inside a blockchain-based trading format, though the operational and regulatory details will matter more than the label.

For prediction markets, the Canadian plan is still early. The conservative read is that Coinbase is signaling intent, not announcing a finished product. Still, it shows how major exchanges are trying to turn crypto accounts into wider financial dashboards as tokenized assets and event contracts move closer to retail trading.
