Core Scientific announced an infrastructure partnership with AMD that gives the chipmaker access to a large block of U.S. AI data center capacity, extending the former bitcoin miner's shift toward high-performance computing colocation.

The companies described the arrangement as long-term infrastructure for AMD compute customers. CoinDesk reported that the deal is anchored by 15-year leases covering 529 megawatts of U.S. AI capacity and could generate more than $14 billion in base contracted revenue for Core Scientific. Core's own release described AMD as securing more than 500 megawatts of capacity and said the partnership could support growing demand for AMD compute.

For Core Scientific, the agreement adds another large customer commitment to a business that has been moving away from direct bitcoin mining economics. The company said the AMD partnership expands access to AI-ready infrastructure across its U.S. footprint. CoinDesk reported that the new leases lift Core Scientific's leased customer capacity to roughly 1.1 gigawatts, representing more than $24 billion in potential contracted revenue.

The deal also shows how bitcoin mining operators with power access and data center sites are being pulled into the AI infrastructure market. Rather than treating mining and AI hosting as parallel businesses, Core Scientific is increasingly framing its future around contracted colocation revenue from customers that need large-scale accelerator deployments.
