Cyera Moves to Add Oasis Security for Agent Identity Controls
Cyera and Oasis Security have signed a letter of intent to combine, bringing non-human identity controls into Cyera's data security platform as enterprises prepare for broader use of AI agents.
The companies are presenting the deal as an answer to a specific operational problem: agents and machine identities can receive credentials, touch sensitive systems, and move faster than human approval flows. Cyera says non-human identities inside Fortune 500 companies grew nearly 500% over the past six months, while Oasis describes the combined company as a way to unite identity and data security for AI systems.
The reported transaction value is about $1 billion. TechCrunch says the deal is expected to be paid mostly in cash, while CTech reports the same approximate valuation and frames Oasis as a startup focused on access management for non-human identities.
For security teams, the useful signal is less the price tag than the category Cyera is buying into. Data security posture management answers what sensitive data exists and who can reach it. Non-human identity security answers which machines, services, and agents have access and ownership. AI agents make those questions harder to separate because an authorized agent can still expose data or disrupt a process if its permissions are too broad.
The conservative read is that agent security is moving from policy talk into infrastructure consolidation. Enterprises deploying agents will need controls that bind identity, data sensitivity, ownership, and access decisions together rather than treating them as separate dashboards.
