Coinbase has launched tokenized stock products on Base, adding another regulated asset category to the chain's real-world asset push. The first set includes tokenized versions of large U.S. equities such as Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Alphabet, according to Chainlink's announcement of its oracle role in the rollout.

The products are described as standard B20 tokens on Base, with each token backed one-to-one by an underlying share held in regulated custody with Alpaca under the Abu Dhabi Global Market framework. Coinbase is the issuer, while Chainlink is supplying continuous pricing data through Chainlink Data Feeds.

That data layer matters because tokenized equities need reliable market prices before lending markets, decentralized exchanges, and structured products can use them beyond simple transfers. Chainlink said builders on Base can use the feeds to support collateral, trading, and other DeFi workflows around the tokenized stocks.

The launch is still limited. The announcement says Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are available only in eligible jurisdictions outside the United States, keeping the product outside the U.S. retail market for now.

For Base, the move is a notable step in the competition to host regulated real-world assets on public chains. It also ties Coinbase's broader "everything exchange" strategy more directly to Base infrastructure, with equities joining crypto-native assets in onchain applications.
