Revolut Starts EURR Euro Stablecoin Rollout
Revolut is beginning a limited rollout of EURR, a euro-backed stablecoin tied to its consumer app, with initial availability for selected customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.
The launch is notable because Revolut already has a large retail distribution base, while euro-denominated stablecoins remain a small corner of a market dominated by dollar tokens. CoinDesk reported that Revolut has more than 80 million retail customers and more than 16 million crypto users, giving EURR a potential path beyond crypto-native exchanges if the integration widens.
The structure is narrower than a simple Revolut-issued token. Bridge's live EURR page identifies the token as Revolut Euro and says it is issued by Bridge Building S.A. and integrated with Revolut. Bridge describes the asset as designed to keep a value of EUR1.00, with holders having redemption rights and reserves safeguarded under applicable law and MiCA requirements.
At publication, Bridge's reserve page listed 374 EURR in circulation and EUR374 of reserve assets, all held as cash deposits. CoinDesk reported that the token is deployed on Ethereum and Polygon, and that backing funds may be held in segregated accounts at regulated banks or invested in eligible, highly liquid euro-denominated instruments.
For users, the immediate rollout is still small. The broader signal is that a mainstream European fintech is testing euro stablecoin access directly inside a banking app, without requiring users to route first through a dollar stablecoin.
