Payward, the company behind Kraken, has integrated SGB Net, Singapore Gulf Bank's real-time clearing network, to let eligible institutional clients move dollars into trading outside conventional banking hours.

The October 4 announcement describes an initial rollout for a select number of clients using U.S. dollars. CoinDesk reports that availability covers eligible jurisdictions in Asia and the Gulf region. Additional clients and currencies are planned, rather than available across the entire customer base today.

Cash funding beyond bank cutoffs

According to Payward, an SGB client can deposit funds with the platform and use them immediately, including outside the banking day. The change addresses a specific operational mismatch: digital assets trade continuously, while the bank transfers used to fund positions can remain constrained by settlement windows and cut-off times.

This is a fiat funding and clearing integration. The announcement does not describe a new stablecoin or a permissionless blockchain settlement network. Access remains tied to participating institutions, eligible clients and supported jurisdictions.

Liquidity connection still ahead

Singapore Gulf Bank also plans to use Kraken Prime as an additional liquidity source for its digital-asset offerings. The release says the bank will draw on Payward's markets to price customer trades over the coming months, distinguishing that work from the settlement integration already announced.

Neither firm disclosed the initial client count or volumes attributable to this rollout, according to CoinDesk. For institutional users, the concrete development is narrower but useful: dollar balances can become available for trading without waiting for the next banking day, where the service is supported.
