Franklin Templeton has added about $150 million in tokenized money-market fund shares to the XRP Ledger, according to an October 24 CoinDesk report. The issuance brings the network's sgBENJI balance to nearly 193 million shares, valued at about $200 million using the transaction-recorded share price of $1.039.

Subscriptions recorded on-chain

CoinDesk identified two $75 million subscription receipts and two subsequent batches of just over 72.18 million shares each. One publicly accessible ledger transaction, dated October 21, contains metadata identifying Franklin Templeton, a sgBENJI cash-subscription receipt and an amount of $75 million. That record corroborates one subscription entry, not the full issuance by itself.

The tokens represent shares in the Singapore-domiciled Franklin OnChain U.S. Dollar Short-Term Money Market Fund. CoinDesk describes its investments as short-term dollar debt and money-market instruments, with returns accumulating in the share price rather than a fixed one-dollar token value.

One wallet is not one investor

According to CoinDesk, all sgBENJI shares on XRP Ledger remain in one wallet. Its public account settings show eight equally weighted authorized signers and a threshold requiring two signatures to approve transactions.

That concentration does not establish that a single investor owns the shares. Custodians can pool client assets in an omnibus account, and CoinDesk reports that the underlying investor identities and funding sources remain undisclosed.

The development expands the fund's recorded presence on XRP Ledger. It does not, by itself, demonstrate broader retail adoption or establish whether assets moved from another blockchain rather than representing entirely new investment.
